Article marketing, sometimes called bum marketing, can be an essential part of your marketing efforts. If you are trying to get your website noticed, article marketing can be an effective tool to get traffic flowing. There are multiple benefits to writing articles for traffic. We will talk about some strategies to get the most use out of the articles you write.
Once you write an article, you can use it on your blog or website, you can submit it to multiple article directories, compile articles into an ebook, narrate it and turn it into a video and/or add it to your autoresponder series. Don’t just submit the article to one directory and let it sit there. It would be a waste of your time and effort.
Titles! Take some time to think about your article’s title. The article title can be the single most important element of your article. What good is an article that has a title that no one wants to read? Sure, it has all your keywords stuffed in, but you need readers. Search engines can only get people to see the article title and maybe the description. Make sure that title gets them to read your article.
Once the reader decides to read your article, you need to be orchestrating the action from start to finish. What this means is you have to be the director, the article is the script, and the reader is the actor. You want the actor to read the article and click through to your site. To do this, the article needs to discuss and empathize with the user’s pain, it needs to offer a solution and it needs to setup your website as the location of that solution. Keep these points in mind when writing your articles and you’ll be fine.
Your resource box is the final piece of the puzzle. If you write a dull resource box, all your efforts thus far will be wasted. Make sure that your reader is compelled to visit your site. Get them to take action by telling them what you want them to do next. Most readers will comply gladly, especially if you offer a solution to their dilemma. It takes time and practice to get good at resource box writing, so start practicing.
Last, but not least, diversify your link building efforts. Don’t rely on article marketing alone. Remember, search engines love inbound links. Look for blogs that have the same topic as yours and offer to write them a guest post. I have done this with great success. A single link from a popular blog can bring traffic for a long time.
