First off, let me apologize for the lack of posting lately. The return from summer is always chaotic in my house. It is time for us to get down to the business of making money. Justin, a reader of the blog posted a link to a site that discusses blog flipping. Thanks Justin. I did some research on the topic and I have some observations for all of you.
My first observation is that flipping blogs may in fact be a lucrative venture. There are quite a few caveats and potholes to avoid to be successful in this type of venture. I have decided to go through a complete process for all of you to follow in real time.
Another observation is that blog flipping, like site flipping, is a strategic venture. You can flip blogs and websites without traffic for quick and easy cash, but expect the return to be low. If you play your cards right and monetize cleverly, you can create an income stream quickly and sell the website or blog in 30 days for a significant chunk of change. I think that you need to combine strategies to make money here.
Creating websites with a platform like WordPress is a great idea. The reason it is so great is that using a blog platform for websites allows a total newbie to maintain the website without your intervention. Once the blog is setup, they can add new content easily and quickly. Selling the website entails transferring the blog to a new home, something that stops many potential sellers. I will show you how this is done.
OK, I will test the waters for you guys and you can follow along for free! Here’s how I will do it. I will pick a hot niche and create a blog. I will then turn around and list the blog for a quick sale. We will see how that goes. My estimate is as follows: time to create a blog with content should run about 5 hours. In one day I can reasonably expect to create two blogs that are of decent quality. If these blogs sell for over $150, that means I can make around $10,000/month! That is exciting! If I outsource the entire process, that means I can still make around $4,000/month with little to no effort! Well, let’s see if reality approaches wishful thinking
