OK, another hard day at work is just about over. I really spent lots of time today deciding what niches I want to target for the flipped sites. Over at the digital point forum and sitepoint, I have seen everything from dog flea remedy sites to full blown music directories. As suggested, I looked at the threads marked [WTB] (want to buy) to get ideas of what people want and guess what? Most of the posters did not know what they wanted! Their posts all went something like this: have some cash, looking for a site with traffic and revenue, doesn’t matter what it is. Well, if I take any of this to heart, it means that not many people are looking for sites that have not been promoted in any way. If I realign my strategy a little, I need to register my sites’ domain names right away and start filling them with content. The problem with this strategy is that all the revenue from this stream will show up at the very end of the challenge. I am not sure I can do that, so I have a compromise. I will come up with a reasonable price for each site based on the work I put into them and try to sell each site based on that. Here’s an example of this thinking: a 15 article niche site with nice template and header and a couple of photos should fetch at least $15/article which is $225 plus about 2 hours labor to put into a template and search for photos, 2 x $50 (my minimum as a web designer) = $325 + $9 for domain registration. Grand total: $334. If the market is willing to pay that much, given that the challenge is 45/7 or a little over 6 weeks, that means if I can produce 3 websites/week I could reach the challenge goal with one income stream alone! Yes! There are a lot of ifs, though, but the numbers look promising. Oh, I think I should mention that because it took so long yesterday to mass submit my promotional articles to various article directories, I decided to go with an article submission service. I will not mention it here until I use the service and see results. So far, I have recommended a grand total of two products/services on this blog only. The reason is they work for me and that is the standard. I don’t promote crap and I won’t pull any punches to make a buck here or anywhere else for that matter. Anyway, off my soapbox for now. As soon as my niche research is done, I’ll post the most promising niches. Feel free to use the lists I give you to make money, go ahead, it’s OK. Come back and let me know how it worked for you.
